The Rock and the Prince’s Palace
The Rock, Monaco’s historic heart, gathers the cathedral, medieval lanes and the Prince’s Palace, where the daily changing of the guard takes place. From the viewpoint, the eye plunges onto Port Hercule and the ochre roofs. On the way down, the Oceanographic Museum, perched on the cliff, holds impressive aquariums: an educational, poetic visit, perfect for a calm first date.
Monte-Carlo, casino and opera
A masterpiece by Charles Garnier, the Monte-Carlo Casino sits at the end of a manicured square, flanked by the Hôtel de Paris and the Café de Paris. The opera house, hidden inside the same building, is one of the most beautiful on the Riviera. Around it, the Saint-Martin gardens and the sea-facing terraces invite a chic late-afternoon aperitif, when the light turns golden.
Port Hercule, Larvotto, exotic garden
At Port Hercule, sailboats and yachts share the view with the terraces of La Condamine: perfect for a dinner by the water. The Larvotto beach, fully redesigned, offers a pleasant urban swim. For some altitude, head to the exotic garden and its cacti. On Lyad, Monaco members share their favourite corners; a chance to find someone to walk around the port with at sunset.
